Migration & cleansing

Moving the data without moving the mess.

A migration is the one moment you can fix years of bad records cheaply. Most projects waste it, and carry the duplicates straight into the new system.

Werehouse Media moves business data between systems and cleans it on the way: duplicates merged, records matched across systems that disagree, history preserved, and validation fixed so the mess does not simply rebuild itself. Cleansing and migration work starts at £1,950 after a £495 audit, and nothing is deleted without your sign-off.

The real cost

Bad data is not an IT problem. It is invoices to old addresses.

It shows up as duplicate customers, marketing sent twice to the same person, quotes referencing a contact who left two years ago, and reports nobody believes. The cost is spread thinly enough across the week that it rarely gets counted, and it is almost always larger than the fix.

Duplicates nobody merges

The same customer three times, each with part of the history. Every one of them is wrong.

Systems that disagree

The CRM, the accounts package and the booking system each hold a version of the truth and no shared key between them.

Fields used for the wrong thing

A notes field carrying data that should be structured, because there was nowhere else to put it.

Nothing stopping it happening again

Cleaning without fixing the entry rules buys about six months.

How a migration runs

Mapped, dry-run, reconciled, then switched.

The switch itself is the smallest part. What makes a migration safe is everything done before it, and the reconciliation afterwards that proves nothing was lost.

Map and define

Every field in the old system given a destination, a transformation, or an explicit decision to drop it. Written down, agreed before anything moves.

Cleanse in the staging copy

De-duplicated, matched and validated away from the live system, so the old one keeps working while the work happens.

Dry run and reconcile

A full rehearsal with counts and totals checked both sides. If they do not match, nothing goes live.

Switch, then watch

The cutover, then a period of checking. And validation built into the new system so the entry problems that caused the mess cannot repeat.

Why businesses choose us for this

What you get that you would not get elsewhere.

Nothing is deleted without your sign-off

Merges and deletions are proposed, reviewed and recorded. You get a written record of what changed and why, which matters when somebody asks in a year.

The history comes with you

Most migrations quietly abandon anything the new system has no field for. We extract it into a store you keep, so replacing a tool does not cost you the past.

We fix the cause, not just the symptom

Cleansing is one-off. Keeping it clean is a design change to how records get entered, and we build that in rather than sell you a monthly tidy-up.

Fixed price, and a rehearsal before the real thing

From £1,950, quoted in writing, with a full dry run and reconciliation before anything touches the live system.

Prices

Published, and fixed before anything is built.

Data migration and data cleansing services prices
Data audit£495, credited in full against any build over £2,000. Where the numbers live now, which ones disagree, and what it would take to make them agree. You keep the findings whether or not we do the work.
Reporting buildFrom £1,950. Your existing systems joined to a dashboard that refreshes itself: the numbers you check weekly, on one screen, with the definitions written down.
Warehouse and pipelinesFrom £3,500. A proper store underneath, fed automatically from the systems that hold the data, so reporting stops depending on anyone exporting anything.
Full data platformFrom £4,500. Multiple sources, defined rules, historical data carried across, and dashboards for more than one audience.
Keeping it runningFrom £49 a month. Pipelines monitored, failures alerted to a human, and changes made as the business changes. No contract.

What we will not take on.

A cleanse with no rules change

We will do it, but we will tell you first that it buys about six months unless the entry process changes too.

Migrations with no rollback

If a system cannot be rehearsed against, the risk belongs to the vendor and we will say so before taking it on.

Deleting records to make a report look better

Data hygiene is not the same as removing inconvenient history.

Personal data work without a lawful basis

We can build to your retention and deletion rules. Deciding what you are entitled to hold is your call, and where it is complex, your lawyer's.

Straight answers

The ones people actually ask.

How much do data migration services cost?

From £1,950, fixed in writing after a £495 audit that establishes how many records, how many systems and how bad the state is. The audit is credited against any build over £2,000.

Will we lose anything in the move?

Not if it is reconciled properly. Every migration includes a dry run with counts and totals checked on both sides, and nothing goes live until they match.

Can you clean the data without moving it?

Yes. De-duplication, matching and validation inside your existing system is a common piece of work on its own, and usually the cheaper half of the job.

How long does it take?

Two to six weeks for most record sets. The audit gives you the real number before you commit, because volume matters far less than how consistent the data is.

What about GDPR?

Retention rules, deletion requests and access logs are part of the build. We keep a record of what changed so a subject access request can actually be answered.
