Business intelligence
The numbers you check weekly, on one screen.
Not a wall of charts nobody opens. The handful of figures that actually change what you do next, current without anybody rebuilding them. Where the answer is a screen your team works in rather than one they read, that is custom web application development instead.
Werehouse Media builds business intelligence and reporting for small and mid-sized UK businesses: Power BI and Looker Studio dashboards fed automatically from the systems you already run. A data audit is £495, a reporting build starts at £1,950, and a full platform across several sources at £4,500. Every price is fixed in writing before work starts, and the dashboards live in your own accounts.
The problem
Most dashboards fail for the same three reasons.
It is rarely the tool. Power BI is perfectly capable; so is Looker Studio. What sinks a reporting project is usually decided long before anyone opens either of them.
Nobody wrote down what the numbers mean
If "active customer" is defined differently by sales and finance, the dashboard will be wrong for one of them on day one. Definitions come first, in writing.
It needs a human to refresh it
A dashboard fed by a monthly export is a spreadsheet with better fonts. If it does not update on its own, it will go stale and people will stop trusting it.
It answers questions nobody asked
Twenty charts because the data was there. The useful version usually has five, each tied to a decision somebody actually makes.
It was built for the person who left
Undocumented, in one person's account, on a licence nobody else has. We hand over the files, the accounts and the documentation.
What gets built
Reporting for the people who use it, not for the person who built it.
Most businesses need two or three views, not one giant one. An owner's weekly figures, an operational board for the team, and something a funder or board can read without explanation.
The weekly board
Revenue, pipeline, jobs, capacity and cash, on one screen, refreshed overnight so Monday starts with facts.
Operational detail
The team's view: what is late, what is unassigned, what is about to breach. Filtered to the person looking at it.
Board and funder reporting
The quarterly numbers, formatted the way they get presented, so nobody spends a week rebuilding them in slides.
Alerts instead of dashboards
Some numbers do not need looking at, they need to shout. A threshold crossed can send a message rather than wait to be noticed.
Why businesses choose us for this
What you get that you would not get elsewhere.
We build the pipeline as well as the chart
Most BI contractors take the data as they find it. Because we also do the engineering underneath, the dashboard stays current on its own instead of depending on somebody's export.
Definitions written down and agreed first
Every metric on the board has a plain-English definition recorded next to it, so two people pulling the same number get the same answer.
Your licence, your account, your files
Built in your Power BI or Looker tenancy, handed over with documentation. Nothing depends on a subscription of ours.
A price before you start
£495 for the audit, £1,950 for a reporting build, £4,500 for a platform across several sources. Fixed in writing.
Prices
Published, and fixed before anything is built.
| Data audit | £495, credited in full against any build over £2,000. Where the numbers live now, which ones disagree, and what it would take to make them agree. You keep the findings whether or not we do the work. |
|---|---|
| Reporting build | From £1,950. Your existing systems joined to a dashboard that refreshes itself: the numbers you check weekly, on one screen, with the definitions written down. |
| Warehouse and pipelines | From £3,500. A proper store underneath, fed automatically from the systems that hold the data, so reporting stops depending on anyone exporting anything. |
| Full data platform | From £4,500. Multiple sources, defined rules, historical data carried across, and dashboards for more than one audience. |
| Keeping it running | From £49 a month. Pipelines monitored, failures alerted to a human, and changes made as the business changes. No contract. |

What we will not take on.
A dashboard on top of data nobody trusts
If the underlying records disagree, reporting makes the disagreement prettier. Cleansing comes first, and we will quote that honestly.
Vanity metrics for a pitch deck
If a number exists to look good rather than to be acted on, we are the wrong studio.
Replacing your finance system
Reporting reads the truth. It does not become the system of record.
Enterprise BI governance programmes
Multi-team data governance with a steering committee is a different kind of engagement, and a larger consultancy does it better.
Straight answers
The ones people actually ask.
Power BI or Looker Studio, which should we use?
Looker Studio if your data already lives in Google's world and the reporting is straightforward. Power BI where there is Microsoft 365, real modelling, or row-level security. We will recommend one and explain why rather than defaulting.
How much does a Power BI consultant cost?
Ours is fixed price, not a day rate. A reporting build starts at £1,950 and a platform across several sources at £4,500, quoted in writing before anything begins.
Can you work with our existing dashboards?
Yes, and often that is the cheaper answer. The £495 audit says whether what you have is worth fixing or worth replacing, and it is credited against any build over £2,000.
Will it update automatically?
That is the point. Pipelines are monitored and a failure alerts a human, so a silent break does not quietly serve stale numbers for three weeks.
Do you provide training?
Handover includes a walkthrough and written documentation. Most teams need an hour, because the dashboards are built to be read rather than operated.
