SEO content & blog writing · UK
Content that earns its place in search and in AI answers.
The articles that bring in customers are not the ones written to fill a blog. They are the ones that answer the exact question somebody typed, better than anyone else does.
Werehouse Media writes SEO content for UK businesses: researched articles and pages that answer what your customers search for, with real figures and named sources, so they can rank in Google and be quoted in AI answers. Monthly plans start at £395 a month and cover the whole job: researching what your customers search for, writing two in-depth articles, linking them into your service pages, publishing them and reporting what moved. One-off articles start at £195, and there is no minimum term.
This is the ongoing service. If you need the words for a new or rebuilt website, that is website copywriting, a one-off project. If the site itself is what holds you back, content will not fix it, and the SEO audit will tell you so first.
What is SEO content, and what is it not?
SEO content is writing designed to be found: an article or page that answers a question people actually search for, completely enough that Google prefers it to the alternatives. Done well, it reads as useful because it is useful. It is not a keyword repeated until the paragraph stops making sense, and it is not a weekly post written because the calendar said so.
The pages that work hardest for a small business are usually the plain ones: what something costs, what the rules allow, how to do a job, and how two options compare. Those are the questions buyers ask just before they pick up the phone.
What does a monthly plan include?
- Topic research from what people actually search for and from your own Search Console data, so every article targets demand that exists.
- Two in-depth articles a month, each answering its question in the first few lines, with figures and named sources.
- Publishing and internal links where we have access to the site, so each article points readers to the service it supports.
- A monthly report in plain English: impressions, positions, clicks and appearances in Google's AI features, including what did not move.
Which pages do AI assistants quote?
The ones that answer directly, give real figures and say where they came from. A 2024 research paper on generative engine optimisation found that adding citations, quotations and statistics can “boost visibility by up to 40% in generative engine responses” (Aggarwal and others, KDD 2024). It is one study, so we treat it as a sensible habit rather than a promise.
Since June 2026, Search Console has reported impressions in Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode (Google Search Central). It shows impressions only, without the queries, and says nothing about ChatGPT, but it is the first first-party measure of this, and our monthly reports include it. On this site, the cost guides and rules articles are the pages that appear there most.
Prices
How much does SEO content cost?
Most UK freelance writers price by the project: the ProCopywriters 2026 survey of 383 of them found a median day rate of £440. Our prices are deliberately accessible, because content only pays if a business can keep it going for months.
| What | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly content plan | From £395/month | Topic research, two in-depth articles, internal linking, publishing and a monthly report. No minimum term |
| One-off article | From £195 | A single researched article or guide, with sources |
| Full search programme | From £995/month | Content plus technical work, earned links and AI search: see SEO services |

How we write, and how we use AI
Every article starts from a brief: the question it answers, who is asking, what your business knows about it that a content mill does not, and the sources that will back it up. We may use AI tools to speed up research and early drafts. A person writes and edits every article, and every figure is checked against its source before it goes live. Google's guidance on generative AI warns that producing many pages “without adding value for users may violate Google's spam policy on scaled content abuse” (Google Search Central), and we would rather publish two good articles than twenty that do nothing.
The articles on this site's own blog are the best sample of the work: cost guides, rules explainers and how-to articles, each with its sources named. Start with what a website costs in the UK or what aesthetic clinics are allowed to say.
How do we measure it?
Honestly, and over months rather than weeks. Each month you see impressions, average position and clicks for the articles we wrote, from your own Search Console, plus appearances in Google's AI features. Rankings move slowly on a site with little history. Google's guidance on hiring help is blunt: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” If an article is not working after a reasonable time, we say so and change the plan rather than writing more of the same.

SEO content questions.
How much does it cost to write content for SEO?
It depends on the research behind each piece more than the word count. Our one-off SEO articles start at £195, and a monthly plan covering topic research, two in-depth articles, internal linking, publishing and a monthly report starts at £395 a month with no minimum term. A full search programme that adds technical work and earned links is from £995 a month.
Can ChatGPT write SEO content?
It can write fluent text quickly, and Google does not penalise content for being made with AI. What it cannot do on its own is know your prices, your customers' questions or your sources, and it will invent figures if left to it. Google's guidance warns that using AI to produce many pages without adding value may break its spam policies. We may use AI tools for research and early drafts; every article is written to a brief, edited by a person and fact-checked against its sources.
How much do blog writers charge in the UK?
Freelance rates vary widely. The ProCopywriters 2026 survey of 383 UK freelance copywriters found a median day rate of £440, and most price by the project rather than by the word. Our one-off articles start at £195 each.
Is SEO still worth it in 2026?
For a business whose customers search for what it sells, yes, and the reason has widened: the same pages that rank in Google are the ones AI assistants quote. Search Console now reports impressions in Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, so that part can be measured too. If nobody searches for what you sell, it is not worth paying for, and we will say so.
How long before an article ranks?
Usually weeks to months, depending on how competitive the search is and how established the site is. A new site with no history takes longer. Google's own guidance on hiring help is plain: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” We report what moved each month, including what did not.
Do you write about specialist or regulated industries?
Yes. We write for financial firms, clinics, dental practices, solicitors and trades, and in regulated sectors the rules shape the content from the first draft. If a subject needs a qualified person to sign it off, we say so and build that step in.
