Website design & build · Founder-led businesses

A site that earns the traffic it gets.

Designed and built from what your business actually needs to say, not a template with your logo dropped in. Fast, accessible, and built to convert the people who already found you.

Most business websites lose visitors before a word gets read.

A slow load, a template that looks like a hundred others in the same industry, a homepage that never says plainly what the business does. Traffic arrives, and most of it leaves within seconds, for reasons that were entirely fixable.

A website is not a brochure to publish once and forget. It's the one piece of the business every visitor judges you by before they've spoken to you. Building it properly is the job.

What gets built

Sites built around the job, not a theme.

Every build starts from what the site needs to do. These are the usual shapes it takes.

Brochure & service sites

Say what you do, clearly

A homepage that states the offer in one screen, and a structure that gets a visitor to the enquiry form without friction.

Landing pages

Built to convert one action

A single, focused page for a campaign, a launch, or an offer, without the rest of the site competing for attention.

Redesigns

The same business, rebuilt properly

Content and structure kept where it works, rebuilt where it doesn't. Nothing gets thrown away without a reason.

Small e-commerce

A shopfront that doesn't fight the checkout

Product and checkout flows kept simple, fast, and clear about cost, shipping and returns before the card details.

Portfolios & case studies

The work, shown properly

Built to let the work speak, with a structure that makes it easy to add the next project without a rebuild.

Ongoing content & copy

A site that stays current

Content updates and small additions after launch, so the site doesn't quietly go stale the way most do.

Proof

This site is the first thing I'd show you.

Every claim on this page is checkable by looking around. No theme, no page builder, no stock template. Designed and built by hand, the same way a client site would be.

Client work is shared directly on request rather than published openly here, out of respect for client privacy. Ask, and I'll walk you through recent builds.

How it works

A free look first, a fixed price before anything starts.

Structure gets approved before design starts, and design gets approved before a line of it is built. Nothing gets rebuilt because it was skipped.

Step oneFree

The scoping call

Tell me what the site needs to do and who it needs to convince. I'll tell you straight whether a custom build is worth it, or whether something simpler solves it.

  • A short call, nothing formal
  • No charge, no obligation, no pitch
  • A straight answer either way
Step twoFixed fee, credited

Structure & wireframe

The site mapped out page by page, in plain wireframes, before a single pixel is styled. You approve the structure first, so nothing gets rebuilt later.

  • Sitemap and content structure
  • Wireframes for every key page
  • Credited in full against the build
Step threeFixed price

Design & build

Designed and built from the approved structure, tested across devices, and handed over with you holding every key: hosting, domain and content.

  • Responsive, accessible, fast by default
  • Built on plain, portable code, not a locked platform
  • You own all of it from handover
The honest bit

What I'll tell you straight.

You might not need a custom build

If a well-set-up template genuinely solves the job, I'll say so at the scoping call, before any fee is agreed.

Content is usually the bottleneck

The build moves as fast as the words and images arrive. I'll flag early if content is going to be the thing that slows launch down.

No platform lock-in

Built on plain, portable code. You're never stuck renting access to your own website from a page-builder subscription.

Fixed price means fixed scope

Changes after approval are welcome, and priced separately, so the fixed price stays honest for both of us.

Straight answers

The questions worth asking first.

What platform do you build on?

Plain, portable code by default: fast, accessible, and not locked to a page-builder subscription you'll be renting forever. If a specific platform genuinely suits the job better, I'll say so and explain why.

How long does a build take?

Depends on scope and how quickly content arrives. A straightforward brochure site is typically a few weeks from approved structure to launch; anything larger gets a specific estimate at the audit stage.

I already have a site. Can you improve it instead of rebuilding it?

Often, yes. The scoping call covers this directly: sometimes a redesign of what exists is faster and cheaper than starting over, and I'll recommend that when it's true.

Do I need to write the content myself?

You know the business better than I do, so the substance should come from you. I'll structure it, tighten it, and tell you plainly where a page is unclear.

What happens after launch?

A defined support window is included in every build, plus training so you can make small content changes yourself. After that, ongoing updates are available but never required.

Who owns the finished site?

You do, outright: code, content, hosting and domain, all in your name. If we ever part ways, you keep everything and lose nothing.
